Sounds as if the believer has some responsibilty to what they allow in their life. Folks may need extortation, encouragment, preaching to help get them there but it's still up to them what they walk in.

Of course! But just because a person can't break free of an addiction isn't an indicator that they haven't submitted to God! For example, I'm submitted to God but I'm still addicted to AFF, otherwise I wouldn't be here debating this with you.

I agree with this!!

We have a WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR available. HE is able to "counsel" in and
through a "vessel" submitted, who will allow the Wonderful Counsellor to flow
in and through their "vessel", and out to others.

Eph.3:20 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

There needs to be agreement between the Counsellor and the one needing
deliverance. Can't expect the Counsellor to do it all. There needs to be a
strong desire to be delivered.

Can't be like the woman in a prayer meeting where people were being
prayed for for healing. She said, "don't heal me, Lord, I'll lose my dis-
ability"! Some are not sure they want to give up anything. The Wonderful
Counsellor is not going to TAKE it away by force. We must submit to HIM.
HIS WILL, HIS WAY!

There needs to be a strong desire to be delivered, the same as one who
wants to be saved.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Amen, Cindy! A missionary's wife told the story at the church we attend,
about a little boy whose father read him a bedtime story. The father kissed
him goodnight and turned out the light, to leave the room. The little boy said,
"Daddy, I'm scared". The father said, "Son, there's nothing to be afraid of.
Jesus is here with you". The little boy replied, " I know, but sometimes I
need someone with skin on"!
And many times we do need others to en-
courage and re-assure us, whether it's deliverance from sin or addiction, etc.
But only GOD can truly save and deliver!
