Does you wife love you because you make her, or because she chooses to? Which way would you prefer it?

Well, I'm not going to torture my wife for eternity if she doesn't love me...
No one has actually answered the question though, I was hoping someone could tell me if the story about why God created humanity is actually in the Bible or not... and if so, where? I'm curious as to how much we pass down generation to generation as legend and how much is really in the Bible as we know it today.

It seems where you get hung up, Sheltie Dad is the "If you don't serve me of your own free will then you will go to hell" thing.
But serving God is a blessing, so it's kind of like saying "If you refuse to be blessed here, you will also not be blessed on the other side". Or "If you refuse this million here, I'm not offering a billion when you die".

I see it more like I walk into a restaurant that I have never been to before, without a worry in the world, and someone hands me a bill for a billion dollars that is supposed to cover every meal I may or may not eat for the rest of my life... and I haven't even eaten anything yet.

Josh 24:15
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Psa 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

But.......
Since carbon 14 has a half-life of 6,540 years (approx.) it cannot be used to date anything beyond 50,000 years.

I think the point is that eternity without God is what causes the torment. People make that choice.
