Yes king David was forgiven. His deep repentance and cry for mercy stirred the heart of the Almighty and David was forgiven. But though he was forgiven, the repercussions of his evil deeds continued all through his life.

Sin's repercussions reach down through time unto the third and fourth generations...The ugly scar will always be there but repentance is the first step to be renewed in God.

Fornication can be overcome by confessing our sin to Christ and not repeating. I believe the OT addresses the issue of masturbation and engaging in intercourse by married couples. I believe the OT states that any one engaging in these activities will be "unclean until the evening". And all sheets are "unclean" and need to be washed. I can't recall the exact citation, probably in Leviticus. I personally interpret this to mean that saints shouldn't engage sexually on church days.

David in Psalm 51 is on the floor before God, utterly ashamed and as dust before glory: "My sin is ever before me."
Against you, you alone, have I sinned." David not look outside for an oppressor to blame, but inside, to the inward being.
I remember hearing Brother Jeff Dikes preach a message about building the man of God a room in your heart. He told experiences as a pastor of those that would not listen to him as their pastor and changed churches, looked for some pastor to pat them on the back...left and it was not long until they were millions of miles from God...
One of the first steps after repentance is being faithful, having the right spirit and living a regenerated life. Only then can the joy of salvation be renewed.
It takes a very humble person to say " I have sinned" however forgiveness of sins is according to the riches of God´s grace.

I donīt mean to be disrespectful but a missionary could never have sex! We have church every night and sometimes 2 services a day..lol...
I donīt think that is quite the explanation...

The pastor from our old church thought this as well.... As well as teaching in the one-week cleansing period after a womans period. Oh yes, and nothing on Saturday night because it was the NIGHT before Sunday school....
Didn't leave a whole lot of days in the month left!

(The biggest reason he is our ex-pastor.)

I don't mean to be disrespectful either, rather sympathetic. How can you be "in the spirit" if you have engaged sexually? I never felt spiritual when I was married and engaging on church days. I believe the whole day should be devoted to God on service nights. You could always engage AFTER service but not the day of IMHO. (Just my conviction.)

And what about missionaries, like Sis. Alvear, who have services DAILY as she said in a previous post? LOL

I teach my ladies that sex is holy and created by God. I see nothing dirty about it if it conforms to God´s word.

I may be too old to cut the mustard! However I would never teach my ladies or fellow lady missionaries to deny their husbands. It is written in the Bible, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6) This tells us that even believers, God's people, are being destroyed because they too have a lack of knowledge concerning life giving principles.
