I think the point is that people who stay in the church generally don't participate in gang violence, ILG.

I was responding to RevRandy's post, not Steadfasts. I would agree that that was what Steadfast was trying to say.

I never said it was easy-breezy. I did say that it is not the same as the way of the transgressor for the child of God is possessed of the promises of God and borne up and comforted in them. Jesus said, my yoke is easy and my burden is light! We are overcomers not succumbers. We are victors not victims. There is no way we can equate the way of the transgressor and the way of the child of God!

Coop... I would rather be in the church when things happen than out regardless... I would rather be close to God then far from him when things go wrong...

The way of the transgressor is without direction and without hope. The way of the Christian can be hard but is never without direction or hope. Sometimes it can be equated to the way of the transgrassor in that it rains both on the just and on the unjust, but transgressors usually make their own way very difficult by making poor choices which then is also heaped with guilt for transgressing. A Christian should be able to walk free of guilt and with uprightness and integrity but will still have trials and hard times.

The difference is the peace.

Coonskinner, you just might have a valid point there.

Wasn't there an old Carmen song that ended in a similiar fashion?
Something to do with a witch-doctor, maybe?
