Any time you have a group of people interacting, some will eventually rise above others in respect.
That is the nature of human relationships.
Everyone deserves kind and respectful treatment, but some will ultimately command more respect because of their wisdom, character, intelligence, etc.

I don't think anyone should be DISrespected... as in openly treated with disrespect...
But there are people who have earned that my view of what they have to say is one that causes me to generally ignore what they have to say.
The have demonstrated to me that their thought process is almost always outside the realm of anything I care to discuss so I pay them no mind because of my lack of respect for what they think and, most often, the way they choose vocalize said thought.
I would not, generally, openly disrespect them but I sit here quietly having no respect for what they have to say.

There you go again, D4T ... behaving like A CHRISTIAN!!!
Should any poster deserve more respect than the other?
Are we all equal on a forum?
Should one have "Hush power" over the other?
Should one be allowed to insult, tear down and bash over the other?
Respect is earned not given. Everyone operates by the same rules on AFF but respect is given to individual posters by those who feel they have earned it.
Well reasoned posts tend to earn more respect than crude insults.
All these points are the crux of the whole issue, IMO. It's amazing that we seem to have to discuss this every couple of months.

No. We've discussed this before. The thing to do is to DISCUSS ISSUES. Not insult, tear down or bash others who do not agree with your stand on an issue. The key is to act like adults.
Yes, Margie! We have discussed this before. Why do we even need to ask?

I skip over comments that I don't agree with and know it's not worth the time it takes, but I dont' think I've met anyone that I have disrespected. I'll have to think about that one.
