My favorite ice cream flavors? that's easy!
Butter Pecan
Pistachio
Cherry Cordial
Actually, if you don't have one of those three, I'll still eat it - after all, it IS ice cream! But I won't enjoy it. Nope. I refuse to enjoy it. You can only truly relish ice cream if it is one of the three flavors I've named. That, of course, is JMHO.
By the way, the only way ice cream is TRULY good is if you have salty potato chips to eat with it. Right, friends? Can I get an "AMEN" here?

I like mocha fudge ice cream. Whenever I discuss ice cream I'm reminded of the young man whom I mentored and now pastors the church we built in Chipman. One day he and his wife were out with Felicity and I. He always orders vanilla ice cream. Here we were at Baskin Robbins with 31 flavors, so I said, "Come on Dennis, live on the wild side for once. Order something besides vanilla." He ordered chocolate! It makes for a great laugh when we get together even though it happened years ago now. He still orders vanilla!

Now you are on track... when I was just a little fella (8 or 9) we used to go to Charley's drive in in Lawton Ok at 11th and Lee street and get a vanilla milk shake and an order of fries and dip the fries in the milkshake and chow down! Oh Yeah!

One of my favorite childhood memories is of spending the night at my grandparent's house. They both worked a sideline job (mostly as a favor for a friend really) cleaning a chinese restaurant after they closed at night. Grandma and Grandpa would get finished and come home at around 2:00 a.m. on the nights they worked. Meanwhile, my aunts and uncles would be there to take care of me.
When they got home from work, Grandma would go in and go to bed. But Grandpa would wake me up (I usually made myself a 'bed' on some quilts on the living room floor and fell asleep watching tv). We would go to the kitchen and he'd dish us both up a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Then we'd get out the green olives and the soda crackers. That would be our middle of the night snack.
After we ate, I would go crawl in bed with Grandma while Grandpa would kick back in his recliner and sleep for the rest of the night.
I was the only grandchild for many years, so was rather spoiled. Which means that this same scenario played over and over and over and over. Chocolate ice cream, green olives (with pit!) and soda crackers. Mmmmmm!!

Thrifty's Chocolate Malted Crunch. I don't think it exists anymore, though.
