I started to watch it a couple nights ago. Haven't finished it yet. For some reason the movie isn't grabbing me at all - at least not yet.

One thing is that I don't care for the looks of the King. Something about his eyes.......they're kind of strange in my opinion.

I thought most of the things about the movie were pretty good. Don't know the professional terms but, the scenery, costumes, even most of the acting were done well IMO.

But I have to agree with Sister felicity that it just did not grab me. The plot was unclear at times. I was confused and thought it was hard to follow.

I would not watch it again.

The costuming was great. What did you think of that sheer tunic the King wore?

I also thought the girl who played Esther was a "natural" and did a good job. I liked her personality - there was a refreshing quality about her.

But the King .....

I never finished it- I think it's real 'weak', without a slot of substance.

My wife and I got a kick out of the tunic.

I agree with the Esther character. My wife said the book blew the movie away.

Maybe I'll finish watching it tonight ..... or tomorrow ..... or Sunday. LOL. I'm not in any great hurry but I should finish what I started I guess.

I thought it was pretty awesome, I'll agree with you regarding the king...rather whimpy.

The acting, costumes, scenery and the thrust was pretty awesome though.

The King wasn't strong enough I don't think for Esther. I thought she was very "fresh & natural" in the role she played. Maybe because that's what she is in real life.
