All very true... the rapture was an imminent event in the early church's time, and still is today, but that is no reason to get complacent and think that the rapture is going to keep us from suffering.

We are no better than the early church, are we?

I always say it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round... and I can see Bro. Esaias still has the doom and gloom approach to world events ... but he does make good points...

I agree that he makes some good points, however, and it is just my opinion, but focusing so much and getting others to do the same on doom and gloom is a huge lack of faith. I can’t imagine Jesus would want us to spend our time on things that we can’t do anything about.

I heard a preacher say that for all of us who are saved, these things are the closest to Hell we will ever get. We need to continually rejoice that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

We need to walk with our eyes wide open, and without our heads buried in the sand. But we don't need to be doom and gloom either... we have hope in Christ! Whether we live, or whether we die... we can live triumphant overcoming lives in Him

You only read the threads where I warn about something.

Oh, did you notice, there was no "doom and gloom" in my post? No, you didnt. Why? Because you just automatically assume I'm all negative.

And why is that? Because I poke holes in your ren and stimpy balloons you think are reality.

The "rapture" as taught in 90% of churches is a secret, pretribulation, invisible coming of Jesus to beam the saints up to heaven so they can miss all the bad stuff.

Fairy tales.

Re: Ready to die in place?

Funny how these days being responsible and taking care of yourself is actually looked down on and mocked. If I wanted to render a foreign country helpless and enslaved, I would sure work on promoting that general attitude. Makes enslavement so much easier.

Meanwhile...

(Ooooh, looky, doom and gloom! Avert your eyes!)
