Re: No Limits 2017

If they are not ultra cons what are they doing in the World Wide Wrestling Pentecostal Fellowship? Those are the folks who left the UPC because it was too liberal.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

TRC is on the left side of the WPF spectrum.

Correct. By most standards, no pun intended, they are ultra. As for Bro.Young preaching while hosting, he's one of my favorites, and did an awesome job last night.

Bishop Wilson was the 2nd speaker yesterday morning, and he was wonderful, as usual.

The musical selections have been great, but am not too fond of who they bring in each year to direct the choir. But that's just my opinion, for what it is worth...

Agree with the bold!

I have liked the music better this year than years previous....what I have heard anyway.

Still say that if TRC is considered conservative....they are on the far left side of the 'conservative movement'. However, I have enjoyed what parts of the services I have had opportunity to listen to so far.

I did not get to hear Bishop Wilson this time but I like him and usually really enjoy hearing him preach. The man is a genius.

By observation of attending WPF events is that it has grown more "moderate".
Conversely, since the WPF left, the UPC has grown more conservative.
At least in my observations, which is mainly of youth events for both orgs.

I agree that the WPF has moved to the left since its founding. When I first attended its meetings there was tremendous emphasis on prayer, doctrine, and holiness and less emphasis on hype and what I would term "Professional Pentecost". Pre-service prayer was a main emphasis in the beginning and I rarely see it in WPF meetings nowadays. I would love to see it go back to where it was when it began.

Not even. They left UPC because of the UPC stand on TV, and for the fact that they wanted to form something that they were in control of.

Many in the WPF would be classified as moderates, def not ultracon.

I heard a ultracon classify NW as a closet liberal, and this was 15 years ago.

No.... def not in the ultracon camp.

Now that does not mean that I disagree with the WPF, but don't mistake them as ultras.

Bishop NJW was my pastor, and I would NEVER label him a closet liberal. He has softened on a few things he was death on...colored shirts on men on platform, golf...nonessentials.

So the ultra/everything is sin but fresh air crowd might call him liberal, but I would say moderately conservative, and compared to some I know, even ultra.

Guess it's all in the eye of the beholder...
