Notice he said holy in conversation. That means lifestyle and outward. That's the only holiness we strive for, because we're already positional holy in Christ. So, i made the statement we just have to manifest it now, which is holiness in our conversation or lifestyle. Sanctification is from the same Greek word as holiness.

Yes: and there is a striving for it; not that we work for it, but we strive for "...the renewing
of our mind..."
. I tend to believe that "meekness" is our guide to holiness. The meeker the man,
the holier; the holier, the meeker he will become. Something like that.
