Re: sheep vs cattle
I would say that cattle being driven would be parallel to to pastors needing to exert their control who force the cattle to move by rounding them up, goading them, branding them, and giving them no other course of action than to comply. To see more on this subject, just read Ezekiel 34.
On the other hand, the Word speaks of Jesus being the shepherd of His sheep - people who don't need to be driven, rounded up, goaded, or branded... but who willingly follow the voice of the Master, Jesus.
Psa. 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep."
1 Pet. 2:25 "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."
1 Pet. 5:4 "And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."

Re: sheep vs cattle
Pastors should teach what they sincerely believe the scriptures says and implies, but it is up for people to decide to follow. If you have to threaten and constantly keep under fear, then you and the people you lead are not where you need to be. Preach and teach God's Word and His people will follow no goading necessary.

It has a lot to do with trust in our leaders. If they dont teach the word accurately, folks will attend but just tune them out when they see a problem. I see it all the time. Folks go to a church but do not necessarily agree with the doctrine taught. It would be difficult to lead a group like that.

Yes. There is no doubt that pastors, indeed all of the five-fold ministry are necessary to the Body of Christ.
But, when they turn into cattle drivers or cowboys instead of shepherds, using fear to manipulate and coerce the people of their particular church to do what they want them to do... this is not the purpose the five-fold ministry was intended for, and this kind of manipulation does far more damage than good to the Body of Christ.

I've never been to one... from what I've been told, they sing country-style music, and everyone wears cowboy-type clothing, very casual. I don't necessarily have a problem with that. But, if they have adopted the methods of rounding up people the way cowboys round, brand, and herd cattle, I certainly wouldn't be interested. I haven't heard that about them.. but I have heard that they come together in a simple fashion to worship the Lord together.
