Well maybe all of the border states should do this and then they should all bill the Federal govt.

Then when the Feds don't pay, they can make all sorts of harrassing telephone calls to the White House at odd hours of the evening until the White House comes up with a payment arrangement.

AZ tried to "bill the Feds" a few years ago, and it didn't work. AZ was also taken to court and defeated when it tried to pass laws to secure the border. The law was ruled unconstitutional.

I wouldn't be surprised if Just Us AG Holder comes out with a statement soon condemning Perry and warning other border states to leave the enforcement to the Feds.

Hopefully, this border mess will get dealt with once Republicans take over the Senate. I say HOPEFULLY, because the guy in the WH has signaled previously that he won't sign anything less than a bill which has what he wants. He won't compromise...but he blames Republicans for not working with him.

Go figure.

The problem can not be fixed by the governor or anyone, there are not enough troops to guard the border. No fence is tall enough that it can no be climbed over or dug under.

The problem needs to be fixed at its root.

The National Guard will help get word out that the Border is not going to be as easy to get across. It's a show of force. I am for that.

Fixing the root of the problem - Yes, like enforcing the Immigration and Nationality Act. Specifically Section 235 which explicitly allows for the expedited removal of “any or all aliens” who have not been legally “admitted or paroled in the U.S.” and have not been in the U.S. for more than two years.

This law was under the authority of the Attorney General, but was turned over to Homeland Security. This law could be modified at any time time by the President, but he needs his Democratic voters to come in. Foreigners are very used to government control and are the best people to assimilate into the Democratic Party.

Sending the Guard without Federal orders is just creating a clusterbomb of administration junk.

The show of force is something, but little more than political posturing to show up a President who won't respond with a knee-jerk reaction to a problem that has been years in the creating.

More illegals have been deported under President Obama than any other President in recent history.

His style of doing things is very frustrating and, at least as of late, impossible for me to really defend with much conviction. I'm glad it's not in my job description to do that.
