Matt. 7:6

This has been discussed here and you refuse to listen.

Your leaving is your business. However, I will say IMO your doing this only to justify your leaving. You refuse to listen to the man who was your pastor because you don't want the truth. You say you want a bible and a concordance but no doubt will argue against what the scripture states as in Deu. 22:5 which is very plain.

Men were told to wear bifurcated garments and even the three Hebrew men were wearing them when thrown into the furnace. So show me where a godly woman wore bifurcated garments in the Bible.

There will be no scripture forthcoming on that request...
So much for your whole bible only theory...

Re: Bible Study

Francis Chan makes a statement in a few of his sermons that has really stuck with me. Now granted, he is off on some doctrines, but he also nails a few of them perfectly. IN this case, he asks his church what would they believe if they just opened the BIble and read it. Take our theology out of it. Take our preconceived notions out of it. Just read it. Now in the context, he then siad that the sinners prayer wasn't in scripture, but anyone could read Acts 2:38 and know just what to do to be saved.

I find it applicable to many of our standards though as well. Just read the bible. If someone read Deut 22:5 without all the conditioned responses and theology pounded into our heads what would they take away? That men shouldn't wear womens clothes. Ok. Perfect. Simple. Easy to teach. Easy to follow. Most men wouldn't wear womens clothes, be they a dress or womens jeans.

Hair? Ok read the BIble. Paul says long on women, short on men. Again....easy. Simple. But no...we have to go nuts makign it harder than it is. Oh it has to be uncut, even though the greek word used doesn't mean uncut. Paul knew greek and could have easily used the greek word for UNCUT, btu he didn't. He went with Long.

So many things the bible says in a simple manner so that all peopel across all of time could read it and get it, but oh no...we have to make it so hard that we convince people they aren't smart enough to understand so they need our experts (like Seagraves and Bernard) to tell them what verses really mean. It's not good enough to have long hair and be modest. NO..your hair must be uncut and you must wear denim skirts and your hair in a bun. UNless you do so...you are not being modest because WE know what the scriptures REALLY mean.

I'm so tired of it all. Can't people just preach Jesus, tell people to read and live the book and then just shut up?

Pliny - where were the Hebrews told to where bifurcated garments? Are you referring to the "breeches" the priests were required to wear to not show their private parts when walking up stairs?

Apparently these men who were willing to die rather than compromise wore pants. They apparently believed pants pertained to them.

Where in scripture has a godly woman wore pants?
I do not recall any instance of it.

Ok I thought you were referring to the commandment by God to the priests for your bifurcated garment argument. I do not deny the fact this was asked to be worn, but we must also understand the intent and execution of the garment.

For one, it was linen underwear that covered them so you could not see through their robes while they were in the service of the Lord. Secondly, this was a commandment for priests only and was not to be worn anywhere outside of the tabernacle (later the temple). I don't understand how you can take this scripture and say that "underwear" pertains to men?

As for the Daniel reference you gave, I do not disagree with you that most likely he wore a pant-like garment. Some interpretations say it could also mean a mantle as well. But this was not the reason they were on trial with death by fire, it was about worship to a false god. I don't see the point in this one for saying pants are men's garments? If this was the case then why didn't God inspire Moses to use this word when he was writing Deut. 22:5?

God bless

Per your Quote Pliny if Deu is so plain which it is give me the scripture with the concordence like you did in post#15

See... no scripture so obfuscation.
You don't want an answer you want self justification.
Have a nice day.
