Re: When you pick up the Word...

Amen to that...
So--in the following...days,
maybe, or maybe weeks,
I'd like to offer some new
(there is nothing new)
input on:

~FB 'friends' --is it even appropriate for FB to be
offering up a 13 year old preacher's daughter
to a 51 year old ex dope dealer as a friend?
What do you think about this?
How 'bout if said daughter has just recently
been displaying in front of said ex guy? Hmm?

~What about all the stuff that happens
'to you,' anyway; what is that?
Is it possible that at least 50% of it
is not about you at all,
but is just you carrying a cross
for that other guy? Are you still whining?

Ya. I'm going there.

~What about your 'religious' ideas,
anyway? Do you imagine that God
could care about their application
to anyone else, in light of Psalms 130?
Defend your position, etc. (when thread gets
cranked up...be my guest)

~It is written, "Where ever 2 or more
are gathered in My Name, there I AM also."
PYancey has made the observation,
"How would telling people to be nice to each other
get a man crucified? What Government would execute
Mr. Rogers, or Captain Kangaroo?"
How...(blindly) completely have you accepted
and internalized a (n ohsofluffy) concept of 'in My Name'
that was given to you by...some guy?

~Is there an inevitable...'flip' side to any
(thing you might label) 'good?'
An Hasid would once have never countenanced
an earthly concept of Zionism; and yet God
chooses to allow us an imperfect expression of an ideal~
the earthly concept of 'perfection' in a matter is
constantly rejected, and the imperfect are, instead,
chosen..? How does this jibe with your ideas on how long
my wife's hair should be? (for instance)

And these are just the head~toppers,
so get ready. Feel free to comment.
Anxious to get back into forums,
but I'm swamped for the next couple days.
But see y'all there!

Don't do facebook. Personal conviction alone. Don't condemn others who do.

Not sure if I can follow all your trains of thought that you opened discussion on. Maybe you could break up into different posts to make it easier.

Regarding the constant barrage of battles back and forth between all the various "apostolic" issues, well.. I guess you could read Rev. 2 and 3 again, and then come back and see if you think Jesus cares about our doctrinal differences, or if the "heart" issues are the ones HE really is concerned about.

Reading Rev. 2 and 3 recently were real eye openers for me to see how Jesus viewed the current church system of that day. If they were in that much trouble with Jesus, where in the world do we stand today? Makes me tremble to think of it. Makes me want to spend more time on my knees digging out the dirty places in my heart. That's what it's done for me.

It's caused me to reevaluate my heart and my life before the searching eyes of Jesus. I don't want to be found "naked, blind and destitute" in His eyes. I want to have on the garments He expects, the blood-washed ones. Which really means death to sin and flesh, and will. Which really means carrying a cross. Which really means destroying my will each and every day, and surrendering to HIS will in my life.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches...

Re: When you pick up the Word...

Sweet (Amen).
~We had a thread about movies,
watching movies, and I'd like to revisit that.
Warning signs in movies:
-A promise or 'swear' is made, invariably on
something for which the swearer has no control.
-Sex before marriage, down to high school age, is assumed.
-People die, and are seen dying violently.
-Guns are brandished.
-Righteous vengeance is displayed.
-etc.

this thread is a dump for me, KBTW,
but I'll try to reply to that tonight,
assuming it even requires one. Ty.

http://www.wikihow.com/Get-13-Year-O...n-You%27re-Old
but as I suspected, it has been immediately nominated for deletion. After all, it's icky, couldn't we just write an article for 13 year olds instructing them in internet safety? good luck with that. You may vote to 'keep' this article, anonymously, by visiting it's 'discuss' page and commenting, ty.
