Americans have become so fearful!
It's nauseating and maddening!

Many Americans don't value freedom any more.

Americans don't need to fear a dictator coming in and stripping Americans of their individuals rights and freedoms-- not when we're so eager to give them away for the sake of security.

Re: Concealed Weapon Carrier stops mall shooting

In some states the people's very survival depends on high powered weapons. Alaska for one. They're not going to kill a bear, moose, or caribou with a handgun. And law enforcement is few and far between. Weather conditions, and distance both play a part in that. But, most Americans DON'T need those kind of weapons to live. I don't believe military type weapons should be available to the general public, either.

My AR barely, if ever, leaves our bedroom (no, it isn't some sort of kinky toy -just there if/when we need it). I DO have my handgun on me (yes, an evil semi-auto) all the time. We also have a few other guns around the house. ALL of them have a full mag, a round in the chamber, and ready to let loose if needed. Granted we don't have any kids and wouldn't be so loose with them IF we had any younger ones here, but we don't, so we do.

I am also looking at adding the ultimate "force multiplier" to my arsenal. It is not a gun, but when used with one the night becomes a close ally.

This is only a gen1 scope, but still very highly rated. I don't even want to look through a gen2 or gen3 since I know I will be then disappointed with anything less and I simply cannot afford how much $$$ they cost.

Re: Concealed Weapon Carrier stops mall shooting

People who trade liberty for the illusion of security lose both and deserve neither. I don't remember exactly who said it. Benjamin Franklin? The quote may be slightly misquoted but the meaning is there.

Also, all that evil needs to prosper is for good people to do nothing.

When seconds count the police are just minutes away.

All good quotes though I don't remember exactly who said them.
Weapons kill people like spoons make people fat.

It's interesting that studies show where the citizens are armed violence decreases. Also, it has also been said that these type events, tragic as they are, happen in weapon free zones. Hmmm... Seems like a correlation. The more law abiding citizens are armed and ready to defend their liberty the less crime. Cities like Washington DC that have some of the strictest gun control laws are the most violent cities.

Bottom line. People kill people period. It is sickening to hear politicians taking advantage of a tragedy and using it to further their agenda. They should be impeached for their crassness.
