I found that, rather than supplementing sleep with natural/chemical aides, investing in an upgrade of my sleep environment was all I needed for better sleep. Darker and quieter room, as well as a memory foam mattress (though the latter could be considered a 'chemical aide' and are generally expensive, though I bought mine from Ergoflex on an online sale).
I really don't want to have to go to the doctor for sleep, but I haven't been sleeping too good lately. I was wondering, anyone have any good sleep remedies they'd like to share? Warm milk just isn't doing the trick...

Most of my life I haven't had much trouble sleeping, until the last year. Several people mentioned Melatonin. So I thought I would start out slow. I went to CVS and got a Melatonin that was only 2.5 mg. It also had a couple herbs in it. That worked pretty good, but I kept waking up around 2am. So then I would drink some milk and 2 dark chocolate kisses, take another one and go back to sleep.
So I went to WallMart and got one with 3 mg and L-theanine 200 mg, chamomile, passion flower and lemon balm. That worked better, but I still woke up about 2 am.
So then I got one with just Melatonin 5mg. If any thing, it kept me awake.
The one from WallMart, name is ---Nature Made. And then in big letters---SLEEP
