Re: Shocker Did Limbaugh finally REPENT he apologi
I don't know. I assume that woman in your hypothetical video wasn't just testifying about how her fellow classmates were having so much sex that they couldn't afford contraceptives, and then including herself in that group with comments following that. Nor was the woman in that video a planted liberal activist being used for a political ploy in order to demonize Catholic institutions for having a moral objection to birth control.
But if you wish to are only interested in trying to spiritualize a liberal political move I guess you can just leave out all the important details and use only the factthat apparently they were both loose women.

Regardless Nitehawk, Limbaugh’s comments were not Christlike. They don’t exemplify what a Christian should say or do in such a situation. Jesus held a conversation with a woman who had been married five times and was at that time shacked up with a man she wasn't married to. Did Jesus call her a “slut”? No. Jesus shared who He was with her, was kind to her, respectful of her, and inspired her. Limbaugh allowed his politics to cloud his judgment. If she was a “planted liberal activist”… Limbaugh was STUPID enough to fall into the trap and open his mouth.
There is no excuse for promiscuous behavior…there is also no excuse for Limbaugh’s choice of words. Two wrongs don’t make a right Nitehawk. Would Jesus Himself have called her a “slut” on nationally syndicated radio? No. Those defending Limbaugh are only revealing that they would do and say the same thing if in his shoes. I don’t think that’s very Christian.

You’re still not getting it. I’m not saying the woman or her fellow classmates are right. We know their behavior is wrong. The point is… Limbaugh wasn’t Christlike. And he brought reproach and rebuke to himself. Truth be told… Limbaugh is hardly qualified to cast a moral judgment. Why defend him? As Christians we should be concerned with both the promiscuity among the student body of this girl’s school AND the venomous rant by a man with as much influence as Limbaugh. Young people listen to the shoe with parents while on road trips. Do you want your kids speaking like Limbaugh? What he said should be denounced swiftly.
We don’t give free passes to conservatives.

Your argument is irrelative. He does not operate a christian radio station nor promote christianity. We can apply your post to many people in the public eye. But as such, christianity is not the topic of discussion.

When weighing Limbaugh's statements I can't just drop my Christianity or my values. That's what I'm seeing others do here. My son rides in my car with me and sometimes Limbaugh is on the radio. I am a Christian. Do I want my son listening to that sort of thing, thinking that's it's okay? No. Limbaugh should be rebuked. Limbaugh should also offer a public apology. That's not saying that the woman's position is just, it's simply addressing Limbaugh's response to this woman in a public discourse. Even the university voiced that while they disagree with her position, they strongly disagree with Limbaugh's comments and believe that they were beyond decency. I agree with the university.
So, do you believe Limbaugh's response was appropriate? Yes or no? Why or why not?

Re: Shocker Did Limbaugh finally REPENT he apologi
I don't want men like Rush to look at every situation and ask "how would Christ speak about this". I want him to punch issue sin the face with conservative ideology. In this case, he called woman a slut who had just basically admitted to having so much sex she couldn't afford it. I want conservative leaders to hit these issues hard, even if it offends, because the namby pamby "let's be nice abou teverythign" approach is what has gotten us to this pont in the first place. We refuse to play dirty kick liberalism into the dirt and it continues to win and enlarge it's borders.
At some point we will have to start hitting back as hard as possible or else we will lose the country to the idiotic liberal ideology. We've been too nice for too long. Liberalism and entitlement mentalities are wrong and need to be squashed by whatever means necessary.

You're sounding far more conservative than Christian. We're all sinners. And Limbaugh is quite a sinner himself I assure you. We can't lower the public discourse to name calling. We aren't five year olds. Limbaugh needs to grow up. As conservatives we should have a higher standard for discourse in the public square. As Christians, we should even raise the bar further.
We won't win a thing if we sound like stupid children throwing names. And if we do... what tone have we set? How have we defined conservatism? Frankly, Limbaugh's comments are an embarassment to the conservative cause.
The issue of birth control and the public health insurance debate is something far more serious than this. There are married, moral, mothers who can't afford birth control. Sometimes birth control is perscribed by doctors to regulate a woman's menses. Do we just call them "red diaper, doper, baby makers" if they believe in the liberal position on the issue? No. We discuss the validity of government being responsible for such a thing from a conservative perspective with civility and facts. Many conservatives feel for women in need of birth control. Some might agree that it's an issue for the individual states to tackle and not the federal government. Name calling and venemous rants just could the reality of the issue.

Did he use the right wording by saying "slut". No. Other than that, I have no problem with what he said nor what he was insinuating.

I do. Limbaugh's immortal soul depends on it.
Also, as a father, I don't want my son hearing his foul mouth. It's my sacred duty to guard my son's mind. I walked out on a preacher who used the word "f@ggs" while preaching. Not because I don't agree that homosexuality is sinful, but because I don't want to give the illusion that I support such language or behavior, especially in the pulpit. I'll most likely not listen to Rush anymore. I'll probably stick with Sean Hannity.
Limbaugh's lack of judgment on this one should cause us all pause, so we can consider how much of a media shock jock he really is. Limbaugh is an embarassment.

I agree. Limbaugh could have essentially made the same point without using the word "slut". But it's obvious the man had no issue with it. If he'll talk like that on nationally syndicated radio with entire families listening... how does he talk in private? Rush is a wart on the face of conservatism. I'd advise that every listener turn him off, especially if children are in the car. Because we don't know what will come out next. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

I disagree. He is more like a cyst on the butt of liberals.
I advise listeners with children to turn him also, that is a parents responsibility.
I believe he represents the conservative movement well because he speaks truths that others are too afraid to speak of.
