God is a loving and just God.

He will also destroy the wicked and avenge the persecuted. We can reap one of two things from God, love and mercy or judgment and damnation.

We need to assure the saints of God's love as much as we need to warn the sinner of his pending imminent destruction.
Yeah, that's what he says. I just don't see it. I've been all over the country, in many sorts of churches, and fear is preached so heavily it's stifling. If he's somewhere it's not preached...I could accept that, but he won't accept anyone else saying it's preached too much. Or..maybe we simply disagree on how much is too much. I dunno.

I don't know whether it's the type of church you're going to (if you're refering to churches within a certain group/denomination) but generally in megachurches, evangelical and charismatic circles fear, reverence, and respect for God's house isn't preached much at all I'm a witness to this. It's usually prosperity, name it claim it-stab it grab it, acceptance gospel, and philosophical fables. The amount of churches that actually preach Hell or judgment (when it comes to the entire Christian diaspora) are scarce, far, few, and in-between, and the trend is away from that.

Re: Toking The Ghost.

I have to agree. The Bible strongly forbids the treatment of holy things as if they were profane. This has consistently caused men trouble through history. The fact that there are people who are so sloppy that they do not care to be sober minded when discussing the holy things of God is no call to jump those who call them down for it.

Both the mercy and the wrath of God are taught in the Scripture.

Anything less than fear and respect of God is taking not only his name in vain, but His entire being.

The more I study the Bible, the more I have to examine myself.

Everybody claims to be Christian, but Christ said,

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

(Matthew 7:14)
