Very good. If you read the platform, vote for it or against it. They select who is attached to the platform. The Republican platform was not only explicit, it was drafted before Mccain was nominated.
There may be only 3 or 4 items in a platform that are not open to compromise.
killing of the unborn is a big one. Taxes on capital gains? Not a deal breaker.

Re: Can a christain vote for Obama ?
You wanted bible verses.
"There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers." [ Proverbs 6:16-19]
The unborn are innocent.

Well I remember when the criticism was that blacks were having too many children-- when the gov't would end up taking care of them.
So now too many black children are dying.
Black children in America just can't seem to catch a break, can they?

Margaeret Sanger started Planned parenthood
Quote:
Margaret Sanger wrote about her Ku Klux Klan speech in her autobiography, "I accepted an invitation to talk to the women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan...I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses...I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak...In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered." (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)
What did she say in her talk at the KKK Rally that led to twelve more invitations? Well, take a look at some of her past quotes:
1) "We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

Re: Can a christain vote for Obama ?
Yes a Christian can vote for a Democrat.
God gave us free will and we have the ability to choose to sin if we so desire.
I just don't know if God would call voting for a Democrat over a Republican a sin.
Chances are, neither one of them will be saved or lead America in a direction where Jesus Christ will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
In fact, we may just hasten His Coming if we keep voting for the Democrats!!!

Re: Can a christain vote for Obama ?
I am SO not an Obama fan in any way, but we have lots of people in our church who voted for him. During the election, you would see car stickers for Obama's party as much as the Republican candidates in our church parking lot. Well, maybe not as much, but most of our African American people voted for him, which I understood. We didn't have any issues at church over the differences in thought.

If the GOP does not present a strong but balanced Conservative in 2012, I will vote for Obama.
I sat last election out, but not this one.

I could never ever vote for Obama. Just personal opinion. If there was no one in the other camp I felt like I could vote for, I just wouldn't vote.

My vote for Obama would be a vote against a Conservative GOP'er that has views that would attempt to take America hard to the "right" at the expense of her citizens.
