On the game itself ... wow. All the focus on the political statement the Suns wanted to make nearly doomed them. They were NOT focused and not in the game at the beginning. (Perhaps in shock that the crowd boo'd them)
The Suns a couple years ago would've lost this game. They should have lost this game. Only shot 43% or so from the field and came back from being down 11 against the SPURS to win. Never would've happened a couple years ago with D'Antoni.
Incredible game by the Suns.
On the pro-illegal, anti-citizen commentary provided by TNT ....
We almost threw the tv out a window though because of the ridiculous political commentary from the TNT broadcasters. These guys have no clue what they were talking about. Barkley's spewing out junk about McCain and Hayworth, both of whom have nothing to do with the bill. The rest are knocking the bill and the people of Arizona who support the bill by lying about it and saying things that are completely false.
The best part was when they brought up the "Rev" Al Sharpton's protest just down the street and made the comment that he was holding a protest with "at least 250 people!" Whew! Wow. Now that is some protest!
Now I was busy doing some work for my daughters upcoming b-day, so I wasn't in front of the tv when the "Los" Suns came out ... but I've heard from family watching and from the news here that the crowd boo'd when the Los Suns came out. My nephews said it lasted a couple minutes at least. The TNT guys made the comment that the crowd didn't seem very into it - not nearly as rowdy as Game 1.
Well, durrrrrrh. A lot of fans were upset. The Suns turned Game 2 into political theatre instead of providing a place where people could get away from it for a few hours.
I'm glad they boo'd.
On to San Antonio to try to finish the series! Hopefully the political junk is past and we can get back to playoff basketball.
Go Suns!
