Wow. A 17 year old girl with normal hormones is being classified as an "addict". She needs a mom to put an arm around her and talk about the facts of life and encourage her that she's normal, healthy, and that God loves her.

Same would go with any young man.

The first young lady isn't married, she's 17 and she's been involved in porn for eight years. That's not what you are talking about - - that's an addiction.

The article is on women and porn addiction -her's, not his. I don't dispute there is a valid ministry here but I do disagree on some of the other things lumped in the mix as being the equal to porn (such as masturbation) and that simply writing the name of each "vice" on a balloon and popping it somehow makes the feelings go away. It reminds me of someone telling someone else with a serious issue "just pray about it" them BAM!, expecting it to be gone.

Also, I don’t believe that self gratification is sinful or harmful as long as one isn’t depriving their spouse of intimacy and it isn’t interfering with parenting, family, work, church, or other life functions. I’d like to add that fantasies about someone other their one’s spouse can be dangerous because it can lead one down the road to adultery so these should be avoided. Healthy human beings should enjoy the pleasures available within the guidelines of God’s Word. It’s part of our being and who we are as human beings. I say, rejoice and give God praise, thanking him for the pleasures of life, including this one. Loving married couples should feel no guilt or shame in this area whatsoever. The one simple rule of thumb I’d follow is that couples shouldn’t engage in behaviors or actions that offend or dehumanize their spouse. Beyond this, I say REJOICE and revel on your privacy and your intimacy. A Christian couple’s love life should be exciting and free…not puritanical and boring. I fear ministries like this are taking advantage of people who simply have high libidos and feel guilty about it. Instead of setting them free, understanding God’s guidelines, they seek to make money off the guilt ridden through the use of pop pseudo-psychology.

Ditch the guilt and shame. Say a prayer thanking God, get a baby sitter, light some candles, play some soft jazz, draw some bubble bath, dress in something a little wild, dust off some intimate items, find something exciting and adventurous to read together, and revel in love without shame until day break.

I'd also advise that a couple only deprive themselves or one another during times of prayer and fasting.
