Re: Global Network of Christian Ministries
Global has improved tremendously over the past couple years, thanks mostly to Scott Jones taking the lead. We were members from the very first, and Eddie was on the board for years, even before the two groups merged to form the present GNCM. Then we got a little disillusioned with it and became uninvolved for a couple years, but after going to the conference this year, we joined up again. There was a beautiful move of the Holy Ghost and the group now seems united and like they are going somewhere.
For a while, it just seemed like it was a fellowship where everyone moaned and groaned about UPC and why they left. We were so far past all that, that it got old at times. That was not the leaders fault and it was never done publicly, just behind the scenes "talk". I don't see that anymore; it's a fresh and exciting group. There were several UPC guys there, and several ex UPC guys, and everyone was excited and seeking God together.

My word, they have more in common than they don't. They share a broad platform, but have much in common. (How we are saved, practice/acceptance of charismatic gifts, etc)

Re: Global Network of Christian Ministries
They may not propogate a position paper for pre-millenialism, but that doesn't mean they don't have plenty else in common.
They have fulfilled: uniting on the essential, granting liberty and promoting discussion on the non-essentials, and trying to do all things in love.

The "grumbling" was why I didn't join up. But now that they have matured and grown, I am currently a member of GNCM. Also, my overseas efforts (China/Korea) are somewhat connected with them as well as we're working to establish Global Asia.

The highlighted is mostly why I've not been involved. I have plenty to say about the UPC as is evidenced here, but there is more to life than ripping the UPC.

Ok, so I have another trepidation. I get the flyers in the mail and the email bulletins. Not long ago, there was going to be a regional meeting and it was going to feature some guy who would "play the piano prophetically". It was during the Kim Clement craze. It just seems like there have been a lot of far-out charismatic things they do. Am I wrong and if not, has that changed?

Of all people on here, I'd figure you to be the one who would embrace something like this!?!

Seriously?? Whew!! I will be the featured speaker at a WWPF conference, proclaim the Holy Magic Hair doctrine, and pigs will fly before I view charismatic looniness with any admiration.
