The only thing that will fix the consequences of the last knee jerk is another knee jerk and who knows where that'll leave us.

I see it as a comment on doctrine never being researched nor questioned because it "is what it is and that is enough for me!". Soon you have one shaky theology supporting an even shakier one where ANY sort of biblical principle which MAY have been present has long been abandoned. No new idea's are ever allowed to be introduced, thus a sort of spiritual inbreeding.

Re: Post-Divorce: She Commands Angels
Another problem is the notion that we need 'excitement', which also breeds the "ends justify the means" of many of our so called evangelists.

- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

This is what stuck out most to me.
I will say that this idea is more widespread than just a few people, I am really suprised at some of the "sesoned saints" who have bought into this.
For the record, my wife and daughters DO NOT cut their hair, but there ain't no HMH happening in this house. Salvation is of faith, that it might be by grace around here. Grace & Faith are the foundations of Acts 2:38 and love of God the foundation for any true holineness "standard." Nothing we can do earns us salvation, and nothing on the external gives us power with God, or allows us to be Commander in Cheif of the angels.
Any power we have, we have by the blood of Christ, and through the Holy Ghost.
That there is TRUE pentecostal doctrine. But guess what, that kind of doctrine gets you disfellowshipped, and kicked off of ministers forums. Where it is popular to equate works with salvation.

Re: Post-Divorce: She Commands Angels
The other issue that bothers me is...well to be honest this is always what I thought charismatics were like..in that they went by how they FELT and not by what the word of God actually said.

Re: Post-Divorce: She Commands Angels
The thing I find most disturbing is the way that angels are given credit when one prays. How is it that man, who was made a little lower than the angels, is commanding the angels rather than praying to God for guidance and trusting Him to give any commands that need to be given?
I didn't know prayer was about giving commands. Maybe it is just me but I often have no idea what "commands" to give in prayer so I am usually asking, "What do I do now?" What need do we have for God when we can command angels? There is nothing about this doctrine that requires any kind of commitment to Christ, uncut hair equals super powers to command the spirit world.

Commanding angels is nothing new. I have heard the Word of Faith preachers proclaim this for years...
Only thing is, if the 'seasoned saints' had heard it first from the likes of Copeland or Price, they would have denounced it as "Charismatic teaching!"
The difference is, it is NOT one of 'them' teaching it, AND it is connected with our belief in uncut hair.
Frankly, I do NOT cut my hair because of some imagined power, but because I believe it is right to do so. I don't need any doctrine added to enhance my belief.
