My main image of the "bun" hairstyle are of all the women with the big poofs in front and the tight bun in the back. The "pentecostal poof" if you will.

Honestly, I really dislike almost anything that I associate with that time in my life. There are even about a dozen song-service songs that make me immediately feel sick to my stomach when I hear them.

We actually did a skit at a youth camp one time where several of us girls had HUGE poofs and these preachers came in (guys in our youth group) and took off their jackets- they had T-shirts with a picture of a girl with a big poof and the "no" sign over it. (think no smoking- but it was no poofs).
The Ghostbusters theme music was playing and when the guys "laid hands" on our heads they intentionally smashed the poofs...

Reminds me of the flashback to the 70's scene from one of the Naked Gun movies when Norberg walked into the room but his afro was too big to fit through the door.

That's how some of the girls in my church are doing their hair, like in that clip Bro Scott put up. Some do that same roll up thing but instead of laying the curl down flat, they leave the curl rolled and do about 3 to 5 across the front.........very elegant looking.

Then some do the one big roll in the front and slick the rest back in a pony then dvide that hair and make as many rolls in the back........beautiful doos!
