I think the moon is different because of the magnetic pull or whatever. There is a scientific basis.

Having worked at schools for 30 years I do think the moon and barometric pressure effects behaviors.

Another good point is being brought up here. While I'm speaking about 'Friday the 13th' and things like 'Halloween' there is the other end of the spectrum that several have mentioned.

I have several people in the medical field ranging from paramedics to RN's to 'home health' workers. I also have several in Law Enforcement and I ride with them on a fairly regular basis. Either group can tell you - myself included - that the 'crazies' usually come out on the full moon. You have more wrecks, more domestic violence and more general nuttiness on those days by far than any other days on the calendar.

Personally, I don't really espouse to the 'magnetic' argument that it affects men's minds... or I would wear one of Praxeas' metal hats! We are, obviously, living flesh in a spirit world (spirits were alive LONG before our flesh was). I concur with ILG that I'm not remotely a superstitious person but I never discount the affects of real spirits at work in our world, either. It appears the subject gives us much to think about.

While hesitating to say too much I don't mind telling you that I do have my own opinions about much of this as I strive to study spiritual warfare and taking dominion over spirits troubling my Saints. I just don't don't know how or if a particular day, like Friday the 13th, plays into all of that.

I work in a domestic violence shelter. The full moon does seem to play a part. Heat also does or any stressful factor such as gas prices going up etc.

Well, I DO believe it. The Bible doesn't say we're snared by our minds, but by the words of our mouths. It doesn't say that the power of life and death is in the mind or the heart, but in the tongue. God did everything by speaking it into existence and we are made in the very image and likeness of Him. We are also "speaking spirits", unlike any of the other creation. As a believer, our words have POWER.

So what do you think makes the full moon cause the change in spiritual activity? It surely isn't superstition because it's seen time and again how the full moon affects society.

I read somewhere it has to do as ILG said with the magnetic pull, The pull has an effect on the water ( ex. tide coming in and going out) Our bodies are a large percentage of water. I can not remember the details.

I believe that partly. But probably not to the extent that you do, by your given examples.

Right. I don't know a whole lot about it, but I hear it has a more scientific rather than spiritual basis.

I taught school full time for four years, and I can promise you that the weather and the moon has an effect on people's behavior.
