Same thing. Just like Paul did when he was ship wrecked. He didn't pick it up intentionally.
Seems to me common sense should tell folks you don't go drinking poison and picking up deadly snakes to try and prove you are a believer.

To really understand this, you have to go back and remember who Jesus called Vipers.... these Old Covenant White Washed Tomb Vipers would not hurt the church with their poisen. This scripture has nothing to do with pickup retiles period....

People who are always looking for fault,can find it easily all they have to do,is look into their mirror.

Naaa... it's just Biblical Imagery... like a lot of other Imagery, it get's really silly, and sometimes scary if you take it litteral... Not to mention, sometimes stupid...

Read the NT through and you'll find Mark 16:16-18 practiced. They spoke with new tongues, cast out devils, laid hands on the sick and they recovered etc. But you will not find them intentionally taking up snakes nor intentionally drinking poison. However, by faith these things will not harm you ... such as Paul shipwrecked in Acts 27.
The NT church today also follows these practices and these signs and wonders follow.
Intentionally taking up snakes and intentionally drinking poisons are a form of tempting God which, as Deut and Jesus said you "shall not" do.
So does this mean I have to pick up one of these people??
