I figured I wasn't the first one to notice this, so I googled "Doubting Thomas bum rap". This fellow has a different take on it, though. Interesting.
Interesting thoughts! I like this from the article:

Quote:
Thomas interrupted Jesus' last discourse with a question, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" He freely voiced his reaction to hearing of Jesus' appearance when he was absent. He thus shows us how to ask bold questions, to demand proof, to pull aside the curtains that principalities and powers drape over their leaders, and to pay attention to the ones behind the curtains. Our world and our church desperately need faithful followers of Jesus to do these things, and more.

Re: Timmy Talk

This week's topic:

Evil

Where did evil come from? Whose fault is it? Is it, somehow, necessary? Could good exist, if there was no evil or the possibility of evil? If we were not capable of committing evil, would we be robots? Are robots bad?

Is every action we take either evil or good? Are there degrees of evil? Is evil merely the absence of good, in the same way that darkness is the absence of light?

Could evil exist in Heaven? Will the inhabitants of Heaven have free will? Will they be robots? Will the inhabitants of Hell have free will? Will they be robots?

Is good more powerful than evil? Will good triumph over evil, in the end? What would that mean to the inhabitants of Hell?

Is faith good? Is a lack of faith evil? Or does it depend on what we have faith in?

Is it evil to be an agnostic? Am I evil? Are you evil?

Don't you hate posts that are nothing but questions? Is it evil to hate?

Yes Timmy, I HATE your post full of questions.

No, it can't be evil to hate, because God hates sin. Right?

Dear Heavenly One,

I have to obey God and what He commands of me. And thru much prayer about your situation He has given me this information for you. . . .

Now I must bring out your response to another thread on this board about “Twilight” the movie about vampires. (Which by the way are evil, wicked and of the devil and he wants you to believe its okay to read or watch this type of stuff) . . .

Re: Timmy Talk

256 hits, now. And wiki's got lots of trivia:

Quote:
In mathematics

256 is a composite number, with the factorization 256 = 28, which makes it a power of two.

Because 256 is the number of items counting from zero to the highest 8-bit binary number (255) it often appears in computer applications (8-bit systems being extremely common) such as:

* The number of different values in one byte, which makes it the typical number of different values in each color channel of a digital color image (see color space encoding).
* The number of columns in a standard Microsoft Excel worksheet.
* The Split-Screen Level in Pacman
* It is the largest 3-digit number that is an 8th power. 2 to the 8th power.

Two hundred fifty-six is also:

* The number of characters in the new Braille 8-dot system.
* The number of counties in Texas.
* The number of characters in Mikhail Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita.
* An area code in Alabama.
* The number of regular season football games in the NFL and the number of picks in the NFL Draft.
* The frequency of Middle C in hertz under philosophical pitch.
* The number of the Amarna letter (EA256), which, according to David Rohl, was written by Ishbosheth and contains mentions of King David, Jesse, and Joab.
* The number of captured Viet Cong in a song "Three-Five-Zero-Zero" of Hair.
* The number of soldiers in the most basic unit of the Macedonian army.
* The number of rupees I currently have in The Legend of Zelda.

The '8' should be a superscript, of course. The cut n paste goofed it up.

Nerd alert!

If I remember right, the max was 255, not 256. At least that would make sense if they use 1 byte for it, since you can have 0 rupees. I'll have to research this.
