I looove heights! Maybe I can be your sidekick, what's the pay?
Really? I enjoy it as well - of course all the while using common sense and saftey precautions. I pay a skilled part-time employee $22 per hr.

Man I understand the feeling!
One always needs a back-up plan (excluding a free fall!) If there is no fall restraint or work platform in place, you must have a place to go in case a shigle is loose... a valley, ridge or secondary roof.
The photos above were exceptionally high. As you can see I am on a peak about ten feet higher than the chimney tops. I would estimate those chimneys to be about 45 ft tall....

Glad you have an interest. I was hired to inspect the chimneys and fireplaces in that 1890's home. These chimneys have been rebuilt about twenty years ago and another added two years ago (no pic of that one).
The chimney in question has one full sized fireplace, one shallow gascoals fireplace, a hot water heater and an unused thimble venting into it.
We will not worry about the fact that the tile is not protruding a few inches as recommended, (there are bigger issues) but I gave a bid to install a large cover over the entire chimney - either copper or stainless, with an animal guard.
