I have been here long enough, and read enough to know how this thread would go. Down hill, just as the standard of holiness that was taught has for lots of you who post here. Stepping out the back door for a while.
But may the Lord Bless you all.

Glenda,
If you knew how it would end - then why did you start it? It really isn't as you think it was at JCM. I was an ultra-conservative and JCM was full of PCI folks. I learned many things I did not know as I was sheltered from the 'real world'.
It amazes me how people think because you don't hold the ultra-conservative UPCI dress code that you have no standards. I think so much focus has been on the outward that the inner man has been neglected.
If you truly love God - you abstain from immorality and sin. If you love God you will be modest in speech, dress, and of exceptional moral character.
Being holy is not about dress standards...it is about taking on the nature and character of God. I had some things I had to post today because of an 80th birthday of a dear friend, but I could not let this go by without responding.
If you want to say you are more holy than the rest of us because you don't cut your hair or wear makeup then you are fooling yourself and miss the point.
Sincerely,
Rhoni

Being holy is setting yourself apart unto him. Everyone has a level of holiness in which they set themselves apart. So in part you argument fails though I understand what you mean. Being righteous before God is being right of heart toward him and him judging according to your deeds your heart. In part this includes setting oneself apart and holy. A relationship though has the aspect of offering unto the other. Thus my point of level of holiness. What you give and separate unto God is love not a measuring stick to hit others with.

Many things are typical of certain arguments and mentalities and a personal aspect is not needed to judge many things. To say what you said is clearly judging according to your own criteria you just laid out. Pharisee robe can only have a few applications and they lead down the same path of thought everytime.
