Back in 1956/1957 when I was attending the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN, Bro. Gordon Magee came and preached a couple of times at Midway Tabernacle (the UPC church which was affiliated with the school). One night he preached on "Blood, Water, and Spirit" and said that the Orange Men (a Protestant group in Northern Ireland) had a tradition that Jacob's Ladder contained three steps.

regarding "Stairway to Heaven," back in the nineteen seventies at an ALJC youth rally, the speaker was a UPC minister from that city. He had been the pastor of that ALJC pastor some years before. After the sermon, the ALJC pastor's son played a guitar solo at the end of the message, during the altar call, and during closing prayer. Of course I had no idea what the song was but my teenage sons told me later that it was "Stairway to Heaven."
