Re: Calipari to Kentucky?????

I've heard that Memphis is matching UK's offer. If that is the case, I would saty put in Memphis.

Newspaper: Calipari accepts Kentucky jobThe Louisville Courier-Journal is reporting John Calipari has accepted the head coach position at Kentucky, and called former coaches to talk about the job and the Kentucky tradition.

The Commercial Appeal reported Tuesday morning that Calipari told friends at a Memphis donut shop he would make his decision "this afternoon."

Re: Calipari to Kentucky?????

Memphis tried to steal Coach Mike Anderson from Missouri this week.

He chose to stay at Mizzou. He took less money to stay at Mizzou.

Memphis just can't win.

Plus, Mizzou put up 102 on them in the Sweet 16.

Gotta love it!

Hmmmm...I have to wonder about the repeated "enjoy the ride" comment.

I spent 23 years in the Memphis area and most of that time was before Calipari arrived to lead the Memphis basketball program.

Prior to Calipari, Memphis had many winning seasons and NCAA runs. Memphis and the surrounding area is known for its excellent ball players.

I guess my point is...BIG DEAL! Coaches come and coaches go! Memphis fans will continue to ride just like they always have.

I always enjoyed Memphis basketball. Watched many live games.

Re: Calipari to Kentucky?????

Kentucky is a rare beast and the SEC is not Conference USA. I am curious as to how this will all turn out.

Re: Calipari to Kentucky?????

They actually interupted prime time TV last night to keep making announcements about him leaving. Okay, already we know he's leaving.
