I can accept men with facial hair as fellow Christians,I prefer not to have one myself.

Re: Apostolics joining 40 Day Beard Facebook Group

I'm not interested in growing a beard. I'm too old. It would be all gray and I don't want a gray beard. What little hair I do have on my head is gray and I've accepted that, but I don't want a gray beard.

I realize shaving off the hair that God grows on your face is considered an unnatural act by some and is even considered effeminate by some but in our American culture it is considered OK for a man to be clean shaven and usual his manliness is not questioned.

Amen. I shaved earlier today (just before seeing this thread) not because others didn't like it, but I didn't. In fact my wife acted disappointing after seeing me (I didn't tell her I was doing it).

Without question a beard on a man instantly separates him in appearance from a woman....

There might come a time, when beards on men are a necessary standard. You never know.

Re: Apostolics joining 40 Day Beard Facebook Group

My son has some disabilities, so he can not shave himself. I got tired of shaving him everyday, so I took the summer off and he grew a beard. At 17 he had a beard that grown men were envious of! I had so many people come up and say they liked it. It only takes him about 1-2 weeks for his to grow in good. So by the end of the summer it was a pretty good beard. My husband took him to the barber and had it trimmed so it wasn't messy looking. I sent him to school and everyone started calling him "Mountain man". They were disappointed when I had it shaved off. I had to do it. He looked way older than 17 and that made me feel old!

I can accept this, but how many Apostolic people would judge you as lost or consider you back-sliden for allowing this ?
I can understand this and I understand where you are coming from.
