Obama inclined to move ahead with debate
NEW YORK (AP) - Barack Obama's campaign says he is inclined to go ahead with Friday's presidential debate, even though rival John McCain is calling for a delay.

McCain said Wednesday that he wants to stop all campaigning tomorrow and postpone the debate so they can work together on the financial crisis. But Obama campaign officials say the senator is inclined to move ahead.

McCain said the Bush administration's plan seemed headed for defeat and a bipartisan solution was urgently needed.

That is a good question. Who is he going to debate? Yes, McCain certainly is doing his job. He indeed is honorable. He has put his country first. He is not running from the polls as the polls change like the "wind" and most of the time are bogus. He just is doing the right thing.

If John McCain's past decisions on the banking industry are any type of predictor on his current solutions for the banking crisis, I'm not sure I want him anywhere near Washington D.C. Especially, if that cukoo advisor of his Phil Gramm is giving him "advice".

Statement from Ole Miss regarding Friday's debate
The University of Mississippi released the following statement Wednesday afternoon regarding the status of Friday's debate:

"The University of Mississippi is going forward with the preparation for the debate. We are ready to host the debate, and we expect the debate to occur as planned.

At present, the University has received no notification of any change in the timing or venue of the debate.

We have been notified by the Commission on Presidential Debates that we are proceeding as scheduled.

We will keep you posted as information becomes available."

Although I wouldn’t expect anyone to admit it, I strongly suspect that if the roles were reversed and Obama was looking to delay the debates, the majority of the people here would not be saying he was honorable and acting out of patriotic duty. It would probably be inferred that he was either grandstanding or looking to dodge an actual debate where he would have to answer tough questions.

I agree, however the difference is we KNOW how McCain feels about America and still trying to figure out just where Obama stands.

I would have to go with this, Renda. That's my problem with Obama.
