Pardon me if this is a weird question but... what are they going to do regarding his tongue that he bit through? Is he going to need surgery, or do they just expect it will heal by itself?

Sorry to hear about your son CC, I hope he does go to the hospital and get his injuries checked.
I fractured my rib in an accident one time because of the tightening of the seat belt- I walked around for a week before it was diagnosed, I would hate for him to go through the same thing.
Thankful your son/other driver was not more seriously injured, but hopes he goes to the ER to get checked out. Will be praying for y'all.

He should be checked out to be sure all is ok. My seatbelt pushed my intestines into my diaphram. Seatbelts keep you from going through the windshield which would probably have killed me, but they can also do serious damage.
Thankful he is ok. I guess the other man determined the speed since your son was asleep. He could have said a much higher speed.
