While praying a few minutes ago, I began to speak against the giants in the land. Those GIANT obstacles that stand between us and the joy and peace God has for us.
The children of Israel stood at the brink of entering God's promised Land of Peace. Spys were dispatched to check things out. All but two saw nothing but defeat and danger. They focused on the GIANTS. Two spies saw greater things. They saw God's bounty. They saw God's provision.
Many times on their jouney, the children had looked back and longed for the "peace" and "provsion" slavery had given them. They looked back to Egypt. But God wanted them to keep looking forward. However, if there was ever a time that they needed to look back it was while they stood there looking into the land of Canaan. No, they didn't need to look back to Egypt, but back to the many, many times that God reached down through impossible sitautions and met their needs. They needed to look back at how God had parted the Sea for them, had provided manna from heaven, had given them water from solid stone. They needed to remember how God had protected them through the wilderness and had led them with Pillars of smoke and fire. Above all, they needed to look back at the many times they had failed Him..yet, there He was still leading. And now...here they were, being held back by mere GIANTS.
God is bigger than our giants, sister. Don't think you are in this situation because of some poor decision or failing on your part. No, you are here by God's leading, everything you have been through was to teach you to follow Him. Now watch... just watch how God slays YOUR giants for you. Look back to the many times you have said, "Now that had to be God that did that". Well, that same God will do this for you, too. You've got friends here with you- we, too are standing at the brink, facing giants of our own. And, we are facing your giants with you. Now watch... just watch.....

Bro. OneAccord,
WOW!! That encouraged me just reading your words and knowing they
are SO true!
Thanks Brother. I didn't expect you to post this, but thank you. I appreciate it.
Thanks y'all for praying.
I didn't do nothing. I knew you were hurting, so I hurt. And I wanted everyone else to hurt, too, 'cause, when we hurt, we pray.
Besides, not long ago, you and a bunch of other folks here helped me face my GIANT.
Just remember this:
Remember that time not so long ago when your power bill was due and you didn't have the money? And you prayed, and just in the nick of time, the money just came- from an unexpected and unknown source?
Or that time when you weren't prepared for that test, hadn't studied like you thought you should have, and you prayed? And, you were surprized you did as well on the test as you did? And you thought, "That had to be God"?
Or that time someone really hurt you feelings and you cried and prayed about it? And a day or so later, they came to you and apologized?
What about the time you read something in the Bible that you didn't quite understand and prayed about it, and lo....went to church and the preacher preached that very thing?
Yep... that had to be God. And, He stillis.

Great post. It reminds me of another "giant" story. I love how before David went out to fight Goliath, he was taking the time to review his testimony concerning the lion and the bear. I think that too often we lose perspective because all we can see is the Goliath. The devil has a way of making sure that Goliath is the biggest and loudest thing in the valley...you won't be able to miss or ignore it. However, reviewing your testimony will remind you of who God is and will make Him once again the largest thing in your life.
Is 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Always consider God first...before you consider your situation.
God Bless

Bro, you do this to me so often. These are God's words, not yours. Thank you for posting them.
What I bolded especially. Thank you for putting that in there even if it didn't make sense to you. It's what I most needed to hear tonight.

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message
