You know how I protect my children? I teach them balance from the word of God and I pray with them and for them. I take them to church where the pastor teaches balance. I invest in them the word of God.

I do not know the man nor have I heard the sermon.

Re: "the bean patch"

the sermon was nothing more than a "rally the troops" kind of message against TV....

basicly says he's fighting against TV, because it's connected to more evil

*yawn*

i have to differ, it was a great message, and the thing that gets me is way back in the day they preached against television, and now they want to say it is ok, what happened to the old days, i am glad he preached it, he talks about bringing in things in the home that will affect your children and it starts in the bean patch,

and the bad stuff ends up in the home where the children are,

I totally agree. He put the sermon together well enough that to the casual listener it seemed that he "got annointed" on the topic of TV, but it seemed to me like that is where he was heading from the beginning of the sermon

yeah I guess so. I used to be a fan of his to a degree, but since the tv issue became is candy stick I have stopped. I am sure that he is a good man and all, but preaching an opinion as a doctrine and "we need to protect our bean patch" kinda thing is WAY over the top.

it is not over the top, maybe you all did not get the message really good. it was not all about t.v.
it was about protecting your children from this untoward generation, and the things the world offers.
the devil tries to use devices to get our children out of church.
