Emeril? He is a famous chef knowing for kicking everything up "another notch!".

And incidentally, the best single meal I have ever eaten was at one of his restaurants.

The sad thing to me is this..............it just shows you how hungry Americans are for the supernatural touch of God. They will follow anything that seems to have power, no matter how foolish it may seem.

These baptisms are sad, but whether God would accept their faith? I don't know; I'm not God. I couldn't stand there and watch these take place though; I'd have to walk out.

I think God will accept a lot more than WE think he will. But I also believe it is on a person by person basis, meaning the guy who doesn't know any better will find far greater favor and acceptance then the one who does.

And speaking of following anything that is supernatural..... So true! Just look at the John Edwards and Silvia Browns of the world. Even Uri Geller -who has been proven over and over to be a illusionist, and not a good one, still passes himself off as the real deal.
Then there is the whole "word of knowledge" thing that some traveling evangelists like to use...... Yeek! No one DARES to question that!

Do you mean someone being slain in the spirit and the evangelist sent word for one to stay down and not get up yet? That was his last service at that church. Very wise pastor.

Are these people actually putting their faith in Jesus Christ or are they just their for the excitement? It is ok to be happy and have a good time but this guy looks like he is just misleading people. With all the shaking and crazyness going on there is no way that any rational person can look at this and think that they want to be a part.

It is disturbing to me.

I've seen the barking dog thing and the laughing in VERY conservative UPC churches going back at least 30 years.

He probably told him not to get up until the music started -for max effect. LOL
