In one aspect I agree with you. We are marked by our nature. You talk about the mark of man and in Ephesians it talks about being sealed by the Holy Spirit.
However, I do believe that the "mark" in reference to Revelation is an actual mark of some kind because it is associated with the marketplace and the transaction of business. I don't see how this could be determined by a persons nature

1. Yes.
2. No.
![Smile](http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) But you knew that I would say that.
It is undeniable to the student of the bible who cares to search it out that the mark is satan's answer to God's law that was said to be put on the forehead or hand in Deut 8. We know the law is not a computer chip. Neither was the mark.
...For the record.

Re: mark of the beast
I am a newby here, but I am also a student of the Bible.
Revelation 13:16
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
ALL means ALL
From the time Adam was drove out from the Garden of Eden, we have all recevied the Mark.
The mark is Sin.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Job 7:20
I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
It is not a literal mark, just as God set a mark against Cain in the book of Genesis, so that any who found him would know to kill him.
Only by repentance and the Baptism of Jesus Christ on our lives do we become overcomers of the mark.
We all received the mark, because we were all once like Adam, but now through the way of the cross we received the mark of Christ.

you seem to have forgotten something here.
Revelation 13
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
So if your ideas are correct and the mark is sin then we are going to have to sin to be able to buy or sell. Sorry but I'm not buying what you're selling here.

Re: mark of the beast
so you think you will have to literally receive a mark? if so, then how will ALL receive it.
And do you think that everything is literal in meaning? Is everything a natural interpretation, that we may not buy or sell. Who says to buy or sell with money.
"Religion" is selling anyone who will listen a Bill of goods that are worthless to the kingdom of God.

Do you take "all" to literally mean "all"? If so, does Matt 3:5, "Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
(KJV)
Do you think that literally every living creature was gathered, there was not one person, one cattle, one dog that didn't go out to Him?

Re: mark of the beast
Look in the rest of the bible for something on the hand and forehead and you will find the more correct truth about the issue.

Bro. Blume,
The phylacteries were literal, yes? Satan's version will be literal as well. Let me ask you this. If the U.S. government compels all its citizens to have a microchip implanted in the fleshy part of their right hand between thumb and forefinger, or in one of their eyebrows, will you comply?
