There were a few things that were done by individuals that were clearly criminal such as raping a detainee but I have my doubts Bush ordered that. We punished those who committed these acts.

Were they humiliated? Probably. Do I care if they are humiliated? Nope.

From what I have read, your assessment above seemed to only cover a fraction of the atriocities that prisoners held by our government suffered while in custody. The pictures on this link http://www.antiwar.com/news/?articleid=2444 clearly shows the extent of torture at Abu Ghraib.

"The findings on the physical and psychological exams were consistent with what they reported."

-Stress positions, including being suspended for hours by the arms or tightly shackled for days.

-Prolonged isolation and hooding or blindfolding, a form of sensory deprivation.

-Threats against themselves, their families or friends from interrogators or guards.

-Ten said they were forced to be naked, some for days or weeks.

-Nine said they were subjected to prolonged sleep deprivation.

-At least six said they were threatened with military working dogs, often while naked.

Sounds like excellent tactics to me. They weren't cutting off fingers or body parts, much like the Muslims do and worse.

It is a fact that not all detainees were involved in a terrorists group...they were just at the wrong place and wrong time or they were "sold out" by the warlords in order for them to make some cash.

What about the innocent men who languished in those prisons for years without a trial or conviction?

I really don't believe half of what is reported in these articles. I think there were communication problems for one thing. On the part of the detainees maybe they had some of these supposed injuries before they were detained. Let's not forget Mr. Hussein and his wonderful treatment of his citizens.

Terrorist Training camps, videos, mass graves, the list goes on. That should not be happening in a civilized country.

The report referenced in the article originally posted did not deal with Gitmo however you will notice that those involved in actual torture were prosecuted. As for the things listed in bold that were approved by the Pentagon and Justice Department, I don't think those are torture.
