Fish oil is good for high cholesterol. So is oatmeal.

Of course, eating venison helps keep cholesterol from getting high in the first place!

From what I understand, Oolong is a green tea. At least the buds (the stuff I've seen is in little buds) I've seen are quite green.

Medicinal herbs taken long turn can harm the body just as medicine can. The herbs you take on a consistent basis should be whole food grade herbs. By whole I mean they have five parts: fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and minerals. If they do not have all five parts your body will start leaching what it is missing from your tissues. You will feel great at first, but over the long run it will start to weaken your body. If you are taking vitamin supplements your body is leaching the other 4 parts from from your tissues. Eating a diet that is rich in raw foods and cutting down on your cooked foods will help a lot.

My son was having stomach trouble. We were referred to a Chinese herb "doctor". Sold us a bunch of weird stuff to make a tea with. Sure enough, the vomiting stopped. After three days, just like the "doctor" said!

Do you remember the pills (I forget the name) advertised a couple of years ago, for weight loss? Yep, they really worked, too, so I heard. Just take them at bed time, on an empty stomach (i.e., stop eating three hours before). Amazing!

Did you know if you feel a cold or something coming you can take 4,000mg of Vitamen C and knock it? I've done it once. A ER doc told me about and I read an article about it as well. Some say take 2,000mg every hour for three times total. Vit C acan't hurt ys just pee it out.

It can cause loose stools, but didn;t with me.

I certainly believe in natural/herbal remedies...HOWEVER, you have to make sure you have a good, trustworthy, reliable, moral, ethical herbal consultant!!!!! (Can I stress this point some more?)

We have one that we have used since I was a kid (In Missouri), and we still go to her, whether we have to drive 2 hours to see her, or call her over the phone and describe symptoms. She's very, very good. I don't know what we'll do when she finally retires.

A lot of home remedies are curative, and others will just make you feel better--while you're sick. LOL. Others are just trial and error...they may work for one person, but do nothing at all for the next. We know what works for us, and we stick with it. Saves lots of money on doctor bills, IF they work.

We also have a pediatrician who appreciates natural healing and remedies, so I feel comfortable discussing different things with her, and she will give me a good opinion.

Last year, Sarah had some warts come up on her hands, and within a couple of months, she had 13 warts. (spread over both hands) We put compound W on them, we tried the stuff that freezes them off, nothing. Called up my herbalist, and she prescribed the following: Liquid Chlorophyll, VS-C (Viral-Immune Formula), and one other herb I can't remember the name of.

Regardless, after two months of frustration, Sarah took the herbs for two days, and I kid you not, every single wart dried up and went away. That's only one example.

The problem you run into, is that natural remedies and such are largely unregulated, so you are really left to your own devices, research and intelligence when it comes to sorting through the quackery.

I have warded off several colds this way. However, I've found that if you don't catch it with the first sniffle or two, it won't do much good.

Good rty but we've eaten venison as the main stay red meat for years and my husband has high cholesterol. BUT!! If he ate beef it would probably be HIGHER!!

They say high cholesterol is often the result of too little fiber.
