1) I am so old school...when I said I broke the rules I was meaning that going to a movie (even something that had the Bible as the theme) was a sin.

2) I go to a UPCI, ordained ministers church here in Dallas.

Awww, Rachel, you brought back memories of my sweet Baptist mom. She always had wanted to see the inside of one of the casinos in Las Vegas, but she kept saying, "What if Jesus were to come back now and catch me in there!" Oh Jenny I was feeling pretty weak last week and wanted to just go have a "fling."

Going to a movie was my idea of being wild. It is bad report. I should have just focused on not feeling sorry for myself. This town is small and after I went there I was wondering if someone may have saw me pull up to the movie house.

Look, get up and brush yourself off. I'm willing to wager you didn't enjoy it as much as you thought you would. At least, I typically don't. I'd prefer to watch something at home where I'm in total control and I didn't pay an arm and a leg for the garbage.

The last time I went to the movies was two years ago to see, Zootopia (2016). I chaperoned a birthday party. lol

Before that, it was to see Rio, yes another birthday party (2011).

Before that it was Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen (2009)... just because I liked the computer effects in, Transformers (2007).

Yep, in 10 years, I've only been to the movies 3 times. And two of them were children's movies for the birthday parties I was chaperoning. LOL!

But, don't let me be your example. I'm one of them raging "liberals". lol

I remember at Bible School when a few guys/girls went to see a movie. These brilliant students picked a theater right next to a christian bookstore near the Bible School. One of the instructors saw them and reported it.

IIRC, they were suspended from going off campus except to work and church. Also were required to meet with one of the instructors for morning prayer/devotion at 6:30am each morning, M-F, for two weeks or so.

Glad it wasn't me. I had trouble making it to the 7:30am classes!

I liked the movie. It was bloody, dirty and I think it was the first film I have every watched that cast the Apostles in a realistic light. I cried over 75% of the movie.

The Romans burned to death everyone they found that professed Jesus as Lord. they showed this.

I ask one thing: remember me in your prays. I am in a rough spot in my life. I feel alone and hurting. I am not sure why I even say this. I have never met any of you but I know some of you are in touch with God.

For shame sister!
Surely you could have waited a mere six months for that movie to be released on VHS so that you could watch it on your monitor in the privacy of your bedroom with your husband, away from the precious eyes of your little ones and the prying eyes of your lost neighbors!

I am sure someone did see you and your ability to minister to them has been shot. Now, not only do you have to pray for forgiveness, you have to pray for discernment so that you can figure out who saw you because they would never come to you about this. They would only talk about you to their friends and now they will all be lost because you went to the movie house!

What peril there is in immediate gratification!

All of this could have been avoided if you had just waited for the VHS version!
