There's just a bit too much truth to this. It also applies to the leeway given for adherence to "rules/standards". Say what you will, I've been there and observed that.

Re: If you leave a church, your out of Gods will ?
I once wanted to move to another state where I had a job offer so I went and told the assistant pastor ( the pastor had been out of town for about two weeks) what I was thinking about and he said God hadnt told him anything so make my own decision and he would stand behind it! No pressure whatsoever. He was a very wise man and went on to pastor his own church. He had the right attitude- He acted like the church was Gods and he just worked for God.

I think there could be many valid reasons for leaving a church; it doesn't have to be because you are having problems with the pastor or other people in the church. It is good if you can leave without hard feelings, but sometimes that might not be possible.

Re: If you leave a church, your out of Gods will ?
Psalm 1, KJV
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
One of my favorite passages of scripture! There is SO much wisdom, advice,
and guidance for any occasion. We need to have such a relationship with
God so that we can have total confidence that when we go to HIM for
direction, HE will direct our paths.
Another passage is found in Proverbs 3:5-6 (King James Version)
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
We need to get better acquainted with the LORD. HE holds the answer
to every situation. HE will NEVER lead us wrong, IF we seek Him for our
answers, we won't have to worry about being out of HIS WILL!
Blessings,

I think sometimes pastors have been out of Gods will when they try to stop people from leaving.

Re: If you leave a church, your out of Gods will ?
I have been in five churches in 20 years. (Two for less than six months, but there was a reason for those and believe me it was the will of God and approved by the pastor.) There is always some question as to what is the will of God. There are still times I regret having made the first move, but I have revisited the church and know that I did what God wanted. Just trust God. Don't move without the pastor's blessing if possible, but there are times when you may need to. The church you move to will generally see your move as the will of God.
