There would be no need for three steppers to embarce the light doctrine, they need only to embrace the truth....of the one step gospel.

I believe you are correct, with the exeception of SE, of course.

Now Felicity, I do not believe in any fashion the light doctrine. I Believe that one MUST repent, be water baptized in Jesus Name, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to be saved. Now if you want to take from that point on, I believe that a person is judged by the light they have. But I do not believe pre- Acts 2:38 light doctrine.

I just had a conversation last night with a pastor concerning this whole light/lessor light controversy, and one of the interesting things to me is that we can choose to keep the "unity" when we discuss our differences that pertain to eternal consequence (doctrinal,) but we are willing to split over non-salvational issues such as standards, TV, or some other temporal thing. Maybe my understanding of the light doctrine is wrong, but I understand it to mean that No matter where someone is in their walk with God, as long as they have taken the first step, and are walking in what they know, then they are saved. A PCI person would shrug and say, "and....". But from a PAJC view, this would totally throw out the "3-step" doctrine to believe this. I do not believe a person can truly be a "3-stepper" and believe the light doctrine at the same time. It is a contradiction.

I know for a fact that Clyde taught the light doctrine. I grew up in this neck of the woods- my father knew him well
It's not foolish supposition at all

What is the light doctrine...is it as St. Matt describes?

Yea, the folk before us that didn't get the full revelation from God back in previous times before azusa will not spend eternity in hell - I was told that God would not judge them for what was not revealed to them
I think that;s how they put it

The "light" also referred to as the "lessor light" doctrine does not just apply to those pre Azusa, it applies to everyone post day of Pentecost.
It simply states that all who are "believers" are accepted by God in what ever light they have received, (but they must walk in all of the light they have received) an that while they are in the "lessor light" it should lead them to the full light of Acts 2:38.
If this doctrine is correct then we have no reason to evangelize our world with the "full" light. We might as well join hands with our trinitarian "brethren" and win the world to whatever light they will accept, because in essence we will all get the same reward anyhow.
