Yesterday, Reuters was saying that Obama is only 3 points ahead. That's within the margin of error, which is really a tie. The media is playing this way over what it is. The American people will decide.
Regardless of any other opinion - I saw McCain more steady, solid and commanding last night. He gave much more pointed answers and basically gave a more positive outlook. He was like - Hey, my age is telling you that I've been there, done that and we are going to be fine.
That's what I saw. Obama didn't come across as positive, IMO.
I tried to keep a very open mind last night as I watched it and that is exactly what I saw.
Experience vs. saying what he thinks people want to hear

Right, I agree and I really think the people believe that too. Mainly, because the media was calling the election during the Bush/Kerry race. That right there showed them to not trust the polling stats or the media. Fox never called it.
Finally got it all done!
Your right the media tries to influence the voters on how to vote or even no need to vote.

I was trying to do that also. I really was watching for McCain to look weak, but he never did at any time, IMO.
I'm reading that many thought he should have been more tough on Obama, but I don't think that would have worked. Obama is low on substance and high on style. That would work against McCain.
I think McCain had to maintain an air of Presidential leadership and I believe he did succeed all the while taking a few hard and necessary shots at Obama.
I thought it was a strong debate and I really believe many are not paying attention to that as they wanted a bit of a bloodbath. At least that's my read.

Exactly!

I'm glad you see that. That gives me hope that others see it as well. I don't like the hate flowing and the cry for blood. Palin is doing a little of that on the Ayers thing. I know some of it needs to be addressed, but we need to be careful not to divide or rather deepen the divide.
I guess I need to take that YouTube clip from Glenn Beck down to accomplish that. LOL! No, I can't. It's too funny being that the media is addressing Obama as the Messiah. Don't forget to watch it later when you get home. It's very clever.
"Extending the 30 year mortgage to 40 or even 50 years would be beneficial to both borrower and bank. Borrower would still be responsible for the initial cost of the house but would have lower payments due to a longer term, something that makes the home affordable. The bank would have a longer guaranteed income on the mortgage and would make more in the long run on interest. People who are able to make their current mortgage payments on 30 year loan would not lose value in their home and the home would be more valuable to another buyer that can afford the shorter mortgage term. Every one would win and the government (taxpayer) would not be bailing out anyone."
it works as well as anything if we are going down this road of eliminating risk.
but risk is the controller in our economy. when people dont have to worry about risk, real risky behavior becomes the norm.
then the economy has no chance. (which is where we are right stinking now)

Good point. Okay, another question. I don't believe we have ever voted in a President whose party is dominate in the House and Senate. This would be the first time. I don't see that happening? What are your thoughts?
