RR, are we to think that this difference in viewing Holiness came abruptly to an end at the merger??? .... I think one would have to assume that it was gradual ...
especially examining her tone about things changing when "holiness preachers became a part of us" ..

I have a wedding picture of an apostolic ministerial couple taken in the 1930's in which the bride is wearing the nicest strand of pearls.
It wasn't preached against in all places.

Not at all, and that is my point. They knew there were difference sin some doctrinal and lifestyle stances. Therefore, there would be a progressive move by the movement to solidify those differences over time into "unity of the faith." No one should be surprised that the group did exactly that. it was their intnent form the beginning, IMO. The would endeavor to keep "the unity of the spirit" until they came into "the unity of the faith." Same spirit, different "faith" beliefs. Allow the common spirit to guide them to a common faith.

I saw a picture of NA Urshan with cufflinks on. I think it was in Bro.Yohe's book about the lighthouse ranch.I think it was the picture of NAU riding the mechanical bull.
I saw a picture of Elder S.Chambers with cufflinks too.

Wondering if anyone was going to question that. There is a point to consider there, IMO. I do think that such issues did develop and it is not unreasonable that they sought answers to such questions.
They probably did not worry as much over these issues intially as the main point was that of doctrine. But once that more or less coalesced into a widely held view then these other issues would arise. JMO.

I've always viewed the statement's "not to contend" and "till we all come into the unity"
as "you all be quiet till we convince you we are right".
