Well, that might be your impression--sounds pretty defensive to me--but it is not about me anyway, and that is not how i feel. I'm more interested in revealing that a Christian should not identify with a flag; but if you are going to, at least see what you are pledging allegiance to, which is shifting sand. "America"--aside from being an egotistical narrowing of the whole hemisphere into your perspective--is hardly the US that you grew up in, I'm sure you would admit. (And just so you know, the US as an entity only ever comes to mind for me right here, on this forum; never in real life. I'm no activist; except for chickens.

)
That world is gone now, and the US you are serving and pledging allegiance to is up there, in those numbers. If that is where your heart is, at least be proud of it; or at the very least, acknowledge it, because many, many people will suffer and die today to defend your right to buy cheap gasoline and stuff made by slaves.
As to your argument about the Gospel, "America" can also be said to have done more
to the Gospel than any other country, too. 65
million "Americans" have had their fill, and now seek God through other channels. I'm sure both perspectives have some truth in them; but it seems pointless to even get into the reputation that Christians have earned with anyone convinced that "Christian Patriot" is not an oxymoron. With all due respect, Christian Patriots are committing suicide at the rate of about 22 a day.
You live in an all-encompassing lie, and you have been lied to since the day you were born. And you are running out of excuses--we are not slaves to the 6 o'clock news anymore. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice."
Peace to you, Babylon-lover. Remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things.
