Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?
This is not a what I had for dinner post but is dinner related. Living in the Nashville area is always interesting and you never know what is going to happen.
I have a single female relative who lives here call me yesterday to tell me that a male friend of hers called her this past weekend and told her he was taking her to dinner at a special place. It turned out he took her to a famous female country singer's home where the singer cooked a fabulous homemade dinner for them. My relative said that the singer was very down to earth and friendly and was a great hostess. She has been married to her husband for many years and they both appeared to be still deeply in love. I thought that was nice to hear in this day and age!
Oh, as far as my dinner today goes we had Pap Murphy's Pizza.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Great story, CC1! Have you eaten Chicken Alfredo Pizza at Olive Garden? I don't care for Italian food, but I do like that dish!

It is totally awesome and the red potatoes keep it from being a mushy potato soup.

It was cheap and easy when I was raising 6 kids. Or I would make my own version of goulash. With bell peppers, onions, elbow macaroni, and tomato sauce.

I don't think I have ever had any chicken at Olive Garden. When I have a menu to choose from as big as theirs I end up getting something non Pizza! Probably because pizza is our "cheap" meal about once a week when I do eat out I am not hungry for it. Having said that I love Chicken Alfredo Pasta so I bet the Pizza is great!

Try it next time you are there. It certainly doesn't taste anything close to a "cheap" pizza meal. I never order anything else. Mainly because I don't like pasta. I probably make spaghetti three times a year, if that. LOL!

I have made goulash. I love cornbread and pinto beans with butter. Grew up eating that and chalupas, feeding 8 children.
I buy a brand of pinto beans called, Casserole. They hardly ever have a bean that is dirty or bad. Anyway, I clean them, put them in a crock pot, season them, cover with plenty of water and cook on high for 10 or more hours. Great pot of beans!
