Re: Former Memphis area pastor preaching a confere

Stupid comment. I clearly articulated the Biblical position. I never took sides od guilt or innocence. GC committee has a right to select who they want to speak. The Biblical principle is the same.

I am sure in their mind that would be just cruel and unkind to a minister of the gospel. At that time he had not been judged by the TN district and found guilty so he should have had the benefit of being considered innocent until convicted. They apparently were just given to heeding "gossip".

Right! There was one other scripture God quickened to my memory & to tell you the truth I sometimes choke when I try and swallow it--but it is still right & it is still the Word of God!

Mathew 5:

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The only scripture they care about is the one about freedom of speech.

I remember a time when I didn't gossip or tell white lies. Sexual immorality was repulsive. The sky was blue. Now everything is so blurred. I know right/wrong. I just don't feel anything anymore ... I know that I should feel something. I am not articulating well. Maybe being aware is a sign that there is hope. Anyway.. enough about me. How was your day?

Yes, she is addressed as Pastor Debbie Strlek. Not sure how long she has been married to this gentleman. But, she is affiliated with Dan Willis and that is perhaps how TB is being invited to be a speaker at this conference. Debbie and TB are brother and sister.

Ah! That sound you hear is the light bulb going off in my head. I had no idea. I know nothing of the TB family. Wouldn't know him if he walked up to me.

I wondered how he got hooked up with a cruisematic group just 3 months after all this and got invited to speak on restoration.

He must have signed up for the "Restoration Express" package. "90 days or less and we guarantee you will be back in the pulpit. No apologies or confession needed!"

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
