Re: Is Jesus Sitting on a Throne in His Flesh?
wow...what a great thread guys.
I was wondering about this the other day in fact.
I have a question...assuming that the abstract is considered eternity with no beginning and no end, we cannot fathom to understand it in our finite greek-logic laden minds. So, once Jesus assended into the abstract, doesn't Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21 and February 1, 2011 converge?
How on earth can we step up on a platform and make the statement that we understand the exact manifistation of God Almighty even to the damnation of others calling others who do not make such outlandish statements false prophets of the harlot church?
I don't get it...

We truly can't and should never. What you describe (damnation of other Christians) has become an intolerable enigma within OPism. I am done with being quiet about it.

Jesus ascended into the abstract? What do you think that means?
And no, if you think this means we have no beginning, it does not.
The bible says we are given Eternal Life...that Life is HIS. He makes us immortal in other words. Which does not mean WE have Eternally existed. It means by His Eternal Life He makes us without end (immortal)

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

If someone believes that there is a seperate body than the church, floating around in heaven somewhere, that is heresy.
Teklemarian was kicked out of the upci for divine flesh, yet we see dispensationalists still preaching divine flesh up in heaven.
Again, the ONLY body of Christ is the Church and the doctrines associated with those doctrines.

Is Jesus "in his humanity" sitting on His throne? Yes! In other words Jesus has power NOW. Jesus is King. He rules. That does not mean there has to be a literal chair in heaven and Jesus is resting his tired feet sitting on it. It means that Jesus is reigning right now.

I can't find the quote but at the first of the Logos Thread he says over and over how God began His creation creating a image which was the Logos. And usually he will go into detail on how the first thing the image created was a throne. The thought is not original with him, I've heard it preached,. The only thing Is I doubt God began creating carpentry, and moved up to creating the worlds
