Re: PO's Best Christmas Present EVER!!!!!

I love the last two!

Advice I received today - - rethink the pack n play for your only crib (grandmother's) because it's so low and you'll break your back and it's only good for up to 25 lbs.

I'd like to find a compact/mini crib - white wood.

I shot her the images to see which one she wants. I know the likes the jungle stuffed thing. She has the cutest monkeys!!! We will want to use them!

I didn't care for the "prince" wording on the boys theme. I don't know why I keep thinking of Michael Jackson! Isn't that his son's name? LOL!

Thanks for that advice. I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to look around and see what I can locate. Shoot me an image if you find something first.

I'm just about winding down on the phone calls and e-mails on the subject. I have the shower food and games lined out. The theme will be easy to implement.

Depending on how we feel after she finds out what she is going to have, we may decide on one of these themes.

Changed my mind on all of these. I initially liked the first choice while envisoning crisp white furniture for the decor background - Crib, chest of drawers, bassinet, etc.

Helium balloons (dripping with ribbons) tied to a drawer handle, on the crib, etc., etc. All the furniture spilling over with stuff animals, baby blankets, etc. That's what pulls the festive and busy napkins together. Must have all of that!

BUT, I now have visions of satin, organza, white polka-dot lights, candy bar, cheesecake, petite fours, flowers, monogrammed napkins...............

These are so cute for party favors. I wouldn't punch a hole and use them as ornaments.

Very cool idea! That would be really handy! A bath apron!

Dumping everything here as a point of reference.

My grandchild is going to love all the trees, butterflies, hummingbirds, etc. that I paint in odd little places all over this house. I'm so glad we bought it. I can do whatever I want with it. It's just that kind of house!!!

Re: PO's Best Christmas Present EVER!!!!!

My mother and my SIL's mother are saying that I am NOT supposed to host my daughter's baby shower!

Well, I found my exact answer on-line:
Quote:
I am going to be a first time grandmother and I am going to throw the shower for my daughter along with my other daughter. I want her to have a nice shower and I don't want anyone to put up the money it will take to do that. I want to give her a day she won't forget. I was worried about etiquette but after reading all of these posts I am just going to do it.
SO, THERE EVERYBODY!!! I AM HOSTING THE BABY SHOWER!!! GET OVER IT!!!!

Whew! I feel sooooooooo much better now! That's all!

I did it! I re-taught myself to knit!!!

Very helpful video for a refresher!!

LOL! I had to rip it out several times before I got it. I still don't know what I was doing wrong. Now I'm going to check into crocheting. I want to see which one is easier.

I don't know what this is going to be or why I grabbed this color (lol). I just want to see how big you can make something out of one skein of yarn.

BTW, that is my brass footed footstool. I haven't moved that into the guest room yet.
